No último sábado, o longa-metragem fenômeno no Brasil Tropa de Elite, ganhou o prêmio de melhor filme no festival de cinema de Berlin. O longa do diretor José Padilha, mostra violência e corrupção da polícia do Rio de Janeiro, em meio ao narcotráfico nas favelas da cidade – como carioca, comprovei que o filme é um retrato da realidade, que se passou no ano de 1997, mas que não mudou muito 11 anos depois.
O festival de Berlin é o mais importante da Europa, seguido por Cannes e Veneza, e já premiou como melhor filme Central do Brasil de Walter Sales em 1998. O prêmio causou surpresa para a crítica e imprensa internacional, por desbancar o favorito Sangue Negro estrelado por Daniel Day-Lewis, que possuí oito indicações ao Oscar. Com o prêmio, o filme já ganha mais fôlego, a partir de amanhã ele volta as salas dos cinemas brasileiros e já há previsão para estrear no circuito internacional. O filme do Capitão Nascimento foi um verdadeiro fenômeno; dois meses antes da estréia nos cinemas em outubro do ano passado, o filme foi copiado e vendido em DVD no comércio ambulante - não se falava em outra coisa, as pessoas em toda parte repetiam a fala do filme “pede pra sair, pede pra sair”. Além disso, o ator principal Wagner Moura, naquela época, estrelava o papel de vilão na novela Paraíso Tropical ao lado da atriz Camila Pitanga, eles formavam o casal Olavo e Bebel e tornaram-se outro fenômeno nacional de popularidade. Muito embora, o filme tenha sido visto pela maioria dos brasileiros antes da estréia na grande tela, Tropa de Elite foi sucesso absoluto na categoria nacional de 2007, quase dois milhões viram o filme no cinema, a maior bilheteria nacional continua sendo de “Dona flor e seus dois maridos” com dez milhões de espectadores.

O epicentro do Carnaval

Na noite da terça-feira de Carnaval o Rio de Janeiro tinha só um endereço: Lapa. Quem esteve lá pode comprovar, o lugar estava inacreditavelmente fervendo. Era uma mistura de tudo que um bom carnaval merece ter, e que agente imagina que tenha. Muito samba, mistura de gente, ritmos e diversão. Ao chegar por volta de 1 h, Já de cara, o samba bem ao lado dos arcos derretia os ouvidos, e por ali, circulavam os mais hipes da cidade. Era uma mistura de gente muito descolada, boêmios natos, gringos bem vestidos, malandros da área, travestis, artistas entre outros tipos, que nem eu sei como definir. Naquele momento, a chuva já havia parado, e o clima estava até mais quente; era perceptívela sensação em todos de que naquela hora era o puro carnaval carioca que envolvia - Lugar mais sensual impossível! Na praça, bem em frente aos arcos, rolava o show patrocinado pela Skol, ali pude escutar pela primeira vez o electronic funk , e comprovei que de fato tratava-se da nossa genuína música eletrônica. A reação de quem ouvia, não tem comentários! Eu já ouvi falar, e já vi em filmes sobre o carnaval na Lapa, mas não esperava que fosse vivênciar, o que já achava que nem existia mais.

The epicentre of Carnival

In the square, right in front of the arches, it took place a show sponsored by a brand of beverages, there I heard for the first time the electronic funk, and could comprove that in fact it was our genuine electronic music. The reaction of those who heard, without comments, perfect! I have heard and seen in films about the carnival in Lapa, but I do not expected to live that, what I had thought that neither existed more.
